The poems seem silly now, but still they are special. Each poem - silly or not - brings back a memory. How many people have so much of their childhood right in front of them - to look back on and make them smile? It surprises me that I have saved them all these years. What surprises me even more is the fact that I still write them.
I will continue to write them, so twenty-four years from now, I can look back again - and smile.
I have not shared these poems with many people. Only a select few have ever seen ALL of them. I once had high hopes that someday they would be published - I had always wanted to be an author. Our time here is short and I have decided to share my work with the world and I have decided to do it here on my blog.
In the upcoming months, I will also begin posting segments from a short story I wrote about a tragic time in my life. This too, I have kept bottled up and NEVER shared. The experience I went through should be shared. It is my hope to shed some light on other young women who may encounter what I did. If I can help one soul - I will have achieved greatness.
I hope you enjoy what I bring you. Today, tomorrow and always!
